GREAT new signage at the bottom of each of the ramps at the curly-wurly bridge in #Ladywell Fields 🚲 It is dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists to ride across this bridge.

Official opening at Burn Airfield. Improvements to the path and some benches plus information boards and posts surround the airfield.

The new Chamonix-Aiguille du Midi train halt - no cycle parking, but that's ok in such a tight space.


There's a pretty poor surface on much of the Trans Pennine Trail (NCN route 62) as it makes its way around the Burn airfield. Note added 3 Aug 2022: The surface has improved, see #185289 and #185285.

  • Icon 185390 Absolutely awful junction - very unsafe. Must stop cars turning right as they come up the hill or put in a mini roundabout (teh type that buses and lorries can drive over slowly if need be but visible for all. Even traffic lights would perhaps help. At the very very least a huge sign telling them to indicate. (update: apparently a clear right of way has recently been created for those coming up the hill which is an improvement. Not seen it yet but if so then hopefully there's a big stop sign for those coming down the hill.)
